sexuality and the gospel...
“If you preach the gospel in all aspects with the exception of the issues which deal specifically with your time, you are not preaching the gospel at all.” Martin Luther King
David Platt quotes King in a recent sermon on the topic of sexuality. He calls the church to concern itself with the issue of our time. Sexuality.
We are in a series of posts that will address obstacles that I see between the church and the LGBTQ commmunity. Obstacles that can prevent us from loving well, if not addressed and removed.
Ignorance is one such obstacle- we lack education regarding the culture around us. Sometimes we don’t want to know, sometimes we aren’t exposed to avenues that would present the information. Whatever the reason, we need to see the discussion regarding sexuality and gender as paramount for us to grapple with and expend some mental energy on.
Start this week listening to an excellent sermon:

And while we all know that merely listening to information doesn’t change us, coming to think differently will influence our actions.
You can also hear him dialogue about this sermon on The Hole in My Heart podcast.
I’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback. Would also love to know what obstacles you see in our path to love well.
I’d also love for you to share this so that we can begin to see the Evangelical Church change it’s posture (not it’s doctrine). It matters.
